Can you do it yourself?

Not recommended as a DIY; handling and calibration are tricky.

Common questions

Why is my airbag light on?

A sensor, wiring, seat connector or clockspring problem can all trigger it. The scan tool reads the code that shows which circuit has a fault.

Will the airbag work with the light on?

Not reliably. The system may be turned off for safety, so the airbag might not deploy in a crash. Do not wait to get it checked.

Do seat sensors fail often?

They can. Items under the seat, cleaning, and moving the seat can damage wires or connectors. A passenger seat sensor can also set the light by itself.

How much does airbag / occupant sensor replacement cost?

A typical range across the US is $220 to $750. That is an estimate from parts prices, labor hours and the local labor rate, not a quote.
