Common questions
How do I know it's the ECU?
True ECU failures are rare. A shop should rule out power, ground, wiring and sensors first, then test whether the module responds.
Can an ECU be repaired?
Sometimes. Some companies repair and reprogram the module for less than a new one. Ask if that is an option and about the warranty.
Why does it need programming?
A new module must be loaded with the right software and matched to the car, often including key codes. Without that, the car may not start.
